St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco Parochial School is an integral part of parish life at the Cathedral. The main goal of the parochial school is to instill the Orthodox Christian spirit in our children, by fostering a love for the history, culture, and traditions of the Russian nation and the Russian Orthodox Church.
The following topics are taught at our school:
- Law of God (including Russian Orthodox Church history)
- Russian language
- Russian history and culture
- Russian literature

Classes convene once a week on Saturday afternoons. The material covered has proven to be challenging. Parents are encouraged to promote further education at home and reinforce lessons taught during class.
